Nepal reports 291 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,598 and the number of active cases stands at 5,005.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported 291 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 829,277.
Similarly, 35 people tested positive in a total of 2,798 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 4,880,024 PCR and 834,417 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,700 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported two Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,598. The number of active cases stands at 5,005.
According to the ministry, 812,674 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 255 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 184 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 140 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 28 in Lalitpur and 16 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 28 new infections were recorded in Province 1, seven in Province 2, 201 in Bagmati, 35 in Gandaki, 14 in Lumbini, three in Karnali and two in Sudurpaschim.
On Monday, 89 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 21—two in Province 1, 18 in Bagmati and one in Lumbini—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 213 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 342 new coronavirus infections were recorded on Saturday and 224 new coronavirus cases and four deaths were reported on Friday.
