Nepal reports 213 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,596 and the number of active cases stands at 4,971.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported 213 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 828,986.
Similarly, three people tested positive in a total of 1,669 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Sunday, 4,870,324 PCR and 831,619 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,962 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported two Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,596. The number of active cases stands at 4,971.
According to the ministry, 812,419 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 209 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 137 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 118 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 13 in Lalitpur and six in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 11 new infections were recorded in Province 1, nine in Province 2, 159 in Bagmati, 19 in Gandaki, 11 in Lumbini and four in Sudurpaschim.
On Sunday, 83 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 19—one in Province 1, 17 in Bagmati and one in Lumbini—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday reported 342 new coronavirus infections. Similarly, 224 new coronavirus cases and four deaths were reported on Friday and 235 new coronavirus cases were reported on Thursday.
