Nepal reports 237 new Covid-19 cases, one death
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,582 and the number of active cases stands at 5,048.Post Report
Nepal on Friday reported 237 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 826,901.
Similarly, 23 people tested positive in a total of 3,838 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 4,809,067 PCR and 799,121 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,060 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported one Covid-19-related fatality.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,582. The number of active cases stands at 5,048.
According to the ministry, 810,271 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 349 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 151 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 106 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 35 in Lalitpur and 10 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 24 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 10 in Province 2, 170 in Bagmati, 12 in Gandaki, 14 in Lumbini and seven in Sudurpaschim.
On Friday, 77 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 21—six in Province 1, 13 in Bagmati and one each in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday reported 241 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 217 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded on Wednesday and 252 new coronavirus cases and three deaths were reported on Tuesday.
