Nepal reports 242 new Covid-19 cases, one death
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,554 and the number of active cases stands at 5,890.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported 242 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 824,222.
Similarly, 12 people tested positive in a total of 2,414 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Sunday, 4,714,778 PCR and 760,505 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 6,268 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported one Covid-19-related fatality.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,554. The number of active cases stands at 5,890.
According to the ministry, 806,778 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 234 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 154 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 119 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 30 in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 27 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 19 in Province 2, 162 in Bagmati, 21 in Gandaki, 10 in Lumbini and three in Sudurpaschim.
On Sunday, 118 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 34—seven in Province 1, 24 in Bagmati and three in Lumbini —were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday reported 194 new coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 232 new coronavirus cases and three deaths were reported on Friday and 197 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Thursday.
