Nepal reports 232 new Covid-19 cases, three deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,552 and the number of active cases stands at 5,997.Post Report
Nepal on Friday reported 232 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 823,786.
Similarly, 27 people tested positive in a total of 4,015 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 4,702,838 PCR and 754,585 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 6,472 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported three Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,552. The number of active cases stands at 5,997.
According to the ministry, 806,237 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 337 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 128 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 79 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 42 in Lalitpur and seven in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 22 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 11 in Province 2, 148 in Bagmati, 35 in Gandaki, 15 in Lumbini and one in Sudurpaschim.
On Friday, 115 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 31—nine in Province 1, 19 in Bagmati and three in Lumbini —were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday reported 197 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 255 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Wednesday and 272 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Tuesday.
