With 2,020new cases, Nepal’s Covid-19 tally reaches 751,001
The Health Ministry reports 35 new deaths including figures from the past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 2,020 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 751,001.
Similarly, 505 people tested positive in a total of 4,901 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 3,849,304 PCR and 440,078 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,909 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 35 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 10,568. The number of active cases stands at 38,250.
According to the ministry, 702,183 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 2,086 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 689 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 518 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 119 in Lalitpur and 52 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 493 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 20 in Province 2, 939 in Bagmati, 367 in Gandaki, 125 in Lumbini, 22 in Karnali and 54 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 21 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 18 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Tuesday, 620 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 170—55 in Province 1, 100 in Bagmati, four in Gandaki, six in Lumbini and two in Karnali and three in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 1,548 new coronavirus cases and 24 new deaths. Similarly, 1, 702 new coronavirus cases and 24 deaths were recorded on Sunday and 1,424 new coronavirus cases and 30 deaths were reported on Saturday.
