With 1,548 new cases, Nepal’s Covid-19 tally reaches 748,981
The Health Ministry reports 24 new deaths including figures from the past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported 1, 548 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 748,981.
Similarly, 253 people tested positive in a total of 2,622 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 3,839,395 PCR and 435,177 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,704 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 24 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 10,533. The number of active cases stands at 38,351.
According to the ministry, 700,097 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,924 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 708 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 441 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 167 in Lalitpur and 100 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 244 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 17 in Province 2, 873 in Bagmati, 333 in Gandaki, 71 in Lumbini, six in Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 21 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 18 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Monday, 679 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 176—54 in Province 1, 107 in Bagmati, four in Gandaki, seven in Lumbini and two each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 1,702 new coronavirus cases and 24 new deaths. Similarly, 1, 424 new coronavirus and 30 deaths were recorded on Saturday and 2, 079 new coronavirus cases and 26 deaths were reported on Friday.
