With 4,524 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 571,111
The Health Ministry reports 101 new deaths including figures from the past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 4,524 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 571,111.
Similarly, 792 people tested positive in a total of 3,073 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 3,088,376 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 13,805 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 101 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 7,386. The number of active cases stands at 106,470.
According to the ministry, 461,563 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 7,219 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,456 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 969 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 306 in Lalitpur and 181 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 721 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 379 in Province 2, 2,115 in Bagmati, 309 in Gandaki, 490 in Lumbini, 213 in Karnali and 297 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 48 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and other 13 districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Wednesday, 1,446 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 385—63 in Province 1, 28 in Province 2, 230 in Bagmati, 26 in Gandaki, 20 in Lumbini, seven in Karnali and 11 in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 5,285 new cases and 68 Covid-19 related deaths. Similarly, 4,178 new cases and 114 Covid-19 related deaths were recorded on Monday and 3,702 new cases and 109 Covid-19 related fatalities were reported on Sunday.
