Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 7,454 with 68 more deaths
With 5,285 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 104,789 according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 5,285 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 566,587.
Similarly, 800 people tested positive in a total of 3,018 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 3,074,571 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 17,147 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
The ministry in its regular report said that 68 people died due to Covid-19-related complications in the past 24 hours, taking the countrywide death toll to 7,454.
The number of active cases stands at 104,789.
According to the ministry, 454,344 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 6,898 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,558 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 1,060 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 283 in Lalitpur and 215 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 873 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 482 in Province 2, 2,524 in Bagmati, 500 in Gandaki, 516 in Lumbini, 219 in Karnali and 171 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 48 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and other 13 districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Tuesday, 1,491 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 404—60 in Province 1, 30 in Province 2, 246 in Bagmati, 28 in Gandaki, 24 in Lumbini, six in Karnali and 10 in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 4,178 new coronavirus cases and 114 Covid-19 related deaths. Similarly, 3,702 new cases and 109 Covid-19 related fatalities were reported on Sunday and 4,311 new cases and 116 Covid-19-related deaths were recorded on Saturday.
