With 9,198 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 464,218

Nepal on Monday reported 9,198 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 464,218.
Similarly, 49 people tested positive in a total of 434 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 214 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 5,215. The number of active cases stands at 113,480.
According to the ministry, 345,523 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 5,767 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 3,098 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 2,346 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 454 in Lalitpur and 298 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 1,219 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 724 in Province 2, 3,622 in Bagmati, 795 in Gandaki, 1,448 in Lumbini, 337 in Karnali and 1,053 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 31 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and other 24 districts host more than 200 active cases each.
As of Monday, 2,792,673 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 21,653 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
On Monday, 1,259 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 400—52 in Province 1, 57 in Province 2, 223 in Bagmati, 33 in Gandaki, 18 in Lumbini, eight in Karnali and nine in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 7,316 new cases and 145 Covid-19 related fatalities. Similarly, 8,046 new cases and 187 Covid-19 related deaths were recorded on Saturday and 8,467 new cases and 203 Covid-19 related fatalities were reported on Friday.
