With 7,316 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 455,020
The Health Ministry reports 145 new deaths including figures from past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported 7,316 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 455,020.
Similarly, 52 people tested positive in a total of 344 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 145 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by the Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 5,001. The number of active cases stands at 110,263.
According to the ministry, 339,756 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 6,648 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 2,609 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 1,881 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 436 in Lalitpur and 292 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 740 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 596 in Province 2, 3,457 in Bagmati, 293 in Gandaki, 1,182 in Lumbini, 413 in Karnali and 635 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 30 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and other 24 districts host more than 200 active cases each.
As of Sunday, 2,770,980 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 19,883 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
On Sunday, 1,313 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 380— 47 in Province 1, 48 in Province 2, 230 in Bagmati, 20 in Gandaki, 15 in Lumbini, eight in Karnali and 12 in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday reported 8,046 new cases and 187 Covid-19 related deaths. Similarly, 8,467 new cases and 203 Covid-19 related fatalities were recorded on Friday and 8,842 new cases and 214 Covid-19 related fatalities were recorded on Thursday.
