Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,246 with 35 more deaths
With 4,831 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 34,117 according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported 35 more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,246. The country also recorded 4,831 new cases and 97 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 317,530 with 34,117 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 280,167 infected people have recovered from the disease so far.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,561 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,127 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 252 in Lalitpur and 182 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 1,883 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 292 in Gandaki, 1,451 in Lumbini, 280 in Province 1, 326 in Province 2, 500 in Sudurpaschim and 179 in Karnali province.
As of Thursday, 2,458,565 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 12,579 PCR and 963 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Thursday, 317 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. 107 others—67 in Bagmati, 21 in Lumbini, seven in Sudurpaschim, six in Province 1, five in Karnali and one in Gandaki—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday recorded 17 Covid-19 related deaths and 3,211 new cases.
Similarly, 18 Covid-19 related deaths and 3,194 new cases were reported on Tuesday and 12 Covid-19 related fatalities and 3,442 new cases were reported on Monday.
