Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,136 with 14 more deaths
With 2,486 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 16,828 according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Saturday reported 14 more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,136. The country also recorded 2,486 new cases and 133 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 297,087 with 16,828 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 277,123 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 368 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 872 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 644 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 141 in Lalitpur and 87 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 1,067 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 110 in Gandaki, 921 in Lumbini, 77 in Province 128 in Province 2, 137 in Sudurpaschim and 46 in Karnali province.
As of Saturday, 2,395,725 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,525 PCR and 133 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Saturday, 213 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Sixty-nine others—49 in Bagmati, 16 in Lumbini, three in Sudurpaschim and one in Gandaki —were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday reported five Covid-19 related fatalities and 3,122 new cases. Similarly, five Covid-19 related fatalities and 2,365 new cases were reported on Thursday and ten Covid-19 fatalities and 3,112 new cases were reported on Wednesday.
