National Covid-19 tally reaches 275,231 with 53 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Sunday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,014.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 53 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 275,231.
According to the ministry, 271,326 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 77 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 891.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 22 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 19 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, two in Lalitpur and one in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 27 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 16 in Gandaki, five in Lumbini, three in Province 1, and one each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim.
As of Sunday, 2,215,411 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 2,615 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal had reported two Covid-19 related fatalities and 60 new cases on Saturday. Similarly, 48 new infections were reported on Friday and 97 infections were recorded in the country on Thursday.
