National Covid-19 tally reaches 275,070 with 97 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Thursday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,012.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 97 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 275,070.
According to the ministry, 271,116 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 66 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 942.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 44 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 36 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu and four each in Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 55 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 25 in Lumbini, 13 in Gandaki, two in Province 1, and one each in Province 2 and Karnali.
As of Thursday, 2,207,922 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 4,484 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal had recorded 104 Covid-19 infections on Wednesday, one Covid-19 fatality and 59 infections on Tuesday and one death and 89 cases on Monday.
