National Covid-19 tally reaches 275,118 with 48 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Friday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,012.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 48 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 275,118.
According to the ministry, 271,177 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 61 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 929.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 26 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 19 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, four in Lalitpur and three in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 28 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, nine in Gandaki, six in Lumbini, three in Province 1, and one each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim.
As of Friday, 2,210,434 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 2,512 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal had recorded 97 Covid-19 infections on Thursday, 104 cases on Wednesday and one Covid-19 fatality and 59 infections on Tuesday.
