Nepal reports 21 more Covid-19-related fatalities to take the death toll to 1,108; national tally reaches 194,453 with 2,817 new infections
While 398 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 82 others are on ventilator support, according to the Health Ministry.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported 21 Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,108. The country also recorded 2,817 new cases.
The overall national infection tally has reached 194,453 with 35,419 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 2,812 infected people recovered in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,533 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,294 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 162 in Lalitpur and 77 in Bhaktapur.
As of Sunday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 88,727. While Kathmandu has reported 272 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur have recorded 71 and 67 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 544 individuals from Bagmati Province, 165 from Province 2, 159 from Lumbini Province, 137 from Province 1, 64 from Gandaki Province, 26 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 13 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Sunday, 1,540,077 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 12,311 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 330 new infections were reported in Province 1, 74 in Province 2, and 1,794 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 242, 298, 20 and 59 cases.
Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Morang and Chitwan districts reported more than 100 infections in the past 24 hours.
While twelve districts—Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Kavrepalanchok, Kaski, Nawalparasi (East), Dang, and Rupandehi—have more than 500 active cases, Manang does not have any active case, according to the ministry.
While 398 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, eighty-two others—41 in Bagmati Province, 17 in Gandaki Province, 15 in Province 1, five in Lumbini Province, and two each in Province 2 and Sudurpaschim Province—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday reported 17 Covid-19-related deaths and 2,753 new infections compared to 18 deaths and 2,909 new infections on Friday and 18 deaths and 3,051 new infections on Thursday.
