With seven new cases, Nepal’s Covid-19 tally is now 109

Nepal’s Covid-19 tally reached 109 on Saturday after seven new cases were confirmed.
The Health Ministry said swab tests of three residents each from Udayapur and Kapilvastu and one from Parsa came out positive for the coronavirus. The tests were conducted at Biratnagar-based Koshi Hospital and National Public Health Laboratory in Kathmandu.
“Swab samples of three women—aged 18, 45 and 60—of Bhulke in Udayapur, three men of Kapilvastu, two 18-year-olds and one17, and a 65-year-old man from Parsa came out positive,” said the ministry.
After a sudden surge of Covid-19 cases in Bhulke of Udayapur, authorities had expanded testing in the region.
Dr Sangita Mishra, medical superintendent of Koshi Hospital, said swab samples of 334 were taken from Bhulke.
