A one-horned rhino was found dead in ward 12 of Madhyabindu Municipality in Nawalparasi East on Monday.

According to Abinash Thapa Magar, information officer at the Chitwan National Park, a female rhino of around four years of age was found dead.

The horn and hooves of the dead rhino were intact. It is suspected that the pachyderm died of injuries it sustained while fighting with another rhino.

A total of seven rhinos have died in and around Chitwan National Park since the start of the current fiscal on July 16.
