A teenager was arrested on the charge of murdering his father in ward 5 of Kawasoti Municipality of Nawalparasi on Wednesday.

According to the police, the incident occurred after the 18-year-old boy attacked his 43-year-old father with a stone on the head at around 11 am. The victim died on the spot.

The father-son duo had gotten into an argument after their pet dog died due to alleged assault from the victim, said Bed Poudel, head of the district police office.

The accused has been taken into custody and further investigation into the matter is underway.
