On Sunday, a case was registered in East Nawalparasi against 35 people, including Member of the Federal Parliament Gita Basnet of Rastriya Prajatantra Party, for embezzling Rs165.8 million from Chhipchhipe Consumers Cooperative.

According to Hari Ghimire, district attorney, the complaint has been registered after strong evidence started appearing against them.

Ten people, including Basnet, are in contact and are willing to follow the court process starting Monday, whereas 25 people are out of contact.

The families of the 25 people have been informed with legal notices regarding the case, said Ghimire.
