Police on Monday arrested a 51-year-old man from Arughat Rural Municipality ward 8 on charges of raping a 20-year-old girl on August 10. 

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramesh Kumar Shrestha of the district police office, the police arrested the suspect after the victim’s relatives registered a complaint. 

The district court has remanded the accused in judicial custody, and further investigation into the case is going on, Shrestha said.
