Two people died after eating poisonous mushrooms in East Nawalparasi on Wednesday.
Baudikali Rural Municipality-6 local Uma Kumari Ale, 66, and 92-year-old Lila Ale were taken ill after consuming the toxic fungi.
Four others—Kulman Ale Magar, Lalita Ale Magar, Tara Ale, and their neighbour Khagisara Sinjali—had also fallen sick after eating the mushroom five days ago, said rural municipality chair Prakash Ojha.
The duo were rushed to the College of Medical Sciences in Bharatpur for treatment.
Uma breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the Bharatpur-based hospital while Lila died on her way back home after the doctors suggested that she be taken to India for treatment, Ojha added.
