Nepali Congress clean sweeps Tanahun in federal polls
Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel was elected from Tanahun-1 while another party leader Shankar Bhandari was elected to the parliament from Tanahun-2.

The Nepali Congress candidates have secured victories in both the constituencies of Tanahun district.
Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel was elected from Tanahun-1 garnering 25,318 votes. His closest rival Ek Bahadur Rana Magar from CPN-UML secured 19,943 votes while Govinda Raj Joshi, an independent candidate, received 6,878 votes.
Likewise, Shankar Bhandari from the party secured a House of Representative seat from Tanahun-2. He received 30,604 votes while his closest competitor Kiran Gurung of the CPN-UML received 25,130 votes. Bijay Joshi of the Rastriya Swatantra Party came in third with 5,336 votes.
