Church Boys United (CBU) lifted the ANFA U16 Youth League title defeating FC Khumlatar in their final league game at the Satdbobato-based ANFA Complex on Saturday.

CBU defeated Khumaltar 3-0 to earn three points and accumulate 50 points from 20 games (16 wins, two draws, two losses). CBU are followed by Armed Police Force (APF) FC with 45 points from 19 games.

APF play Nepal Police Club (NPC) in the final game of the league on March 16. Even if they win the match, APF would still fall two points short of CBU.

Karan Chaudhary’s brace and an own goal by Seyon Rai helped CBU win the league title. Khumaltar, on the other hand, are in the second-from-last position with only two wins and three draws in 20 games.

APF had defeated CBU 3-2 in the first round but lost 0-1 in the second. The CBU had also lost to Friends’ Club Kupondole 1-2 on February 8.

CBU have played two draws in the league—the first against Three Star Club on January 28, and the second against Sankata Club on February 5.

The U16 League, featuring 11 teams, kicked off on December 27. It concludes on March 16 with four more games remaining after the CBU vs Khumaltar fixture on Saturday.

The League returns on March 14 with two fixtures—Sankata vs Satdobato and Machhindra vs Army. The final two games of the League—Friends vs Three Star and Police vs APF—is scheduled for March 16, with a gap on March 15.

ANFA officials said CBU will receive the trophy and other awards at a ceremony on the final day.
