Karnali Yaks post 161-run target against Biratnagar Kings in NPL

Karnali Yaks scored 160 runs for three wickets in their 20 overs against Biratnagar Kings in the 16th match of the Nepal Premier League at TU International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur on Friday.
Electing to bat first, Karnali began the innings cautiously as Mark Watt fell early, run out for 6 in the third over, leaving Karnali at 23 for 1. Priyank Panchal anchored the innings, striking 63 runs off 47 balls, including six boundaries and two sixes, before being run out in the 16th over. Panchal’s innings was the backbone of Karnali’s score, guiding them past the 100-run mark alongside William Bosisto.
Bosisto remained unbeaten on 48 from 48 balls, while Gulsan Jha added a quick 20 off 10 deliveries before falling to Sandeep Lamichhane in the penultimate over. Najibullah Zadran’s cameo of 12 not out off six balls helped push the total to 160, supported by 11 extras. Karnali scored at a rate of eight runs per over, with a strong finish, scoring 56 runs for the loss of two wickets in the last five overs.
On the bowling side, Marchant de Lange and Sandeep Lamichhane were the only wicket-takers for Biratnagar, claiming one each. De Lange conceded 40 runs in four overs, while Lamichhane kept the scoring in check with 24 runs in his four overs. Other bowlers, including Pratis GC, Sam Heazlett, and Basir Ahamad, delivered steady spells but were unable to break the crucial partnerships.
