Karnali Yaks registered a five-run win against Lumbini Lions in the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, on Friday.
Batting first, Karnali set the target of 129 runs. Karnali’s Will Bosisto contributed the most runs 45 off 30 balls, Arjun Bitalu chipped in with 25 runs, opener Babar Hayat made 20 runs while Chadwick Walton made 15 runs. Lions bowler Vikash Agri took the major 3 wickets and Tilak Bhandari took two wickets, while Ramon Simmonds, Saad Zafar and Rohit Paudel took up one piece.
Chasing a target of 129 runs, Lumbini managed to gather 123 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Tom Moores and Sundeep Jora with a partnership of 51 runs raised the run score, but the Lions were not able to chase down the target. Lions’ batters were bowled out with Ashutosh Ghiraiya at 16 runs off 21 balls, Arjun Saud (13), Rohit Paudel (10), Ben Cutting (1), Tilak Bhandari (3*), Ramon Simmonds (4*). Saad Zafar was run out at 16.
Yaks’ Zeeshan Maqsood took two wickets. Sompal Kami, Nandan Yadav, Bipin Sharma and Will Bosisto took a single wicket each.
