Nepal wrapped up their turbulent year in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 with a point against Scotland after their match was called off due to bad weather on Monday.
Nepal were looking to complete a double against the Scots after thrashing them by five wickets in the first leg of the United States Tri-Series that also helped them register their first League 2 win in eight months.
The Rhinos were invited to field first after losing the toss in a rain-delayed match at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, the United States, but the play was suspended again when the Rhinos were at 26-1 in six overs. The match was then officially called off due to lightning and tornadoes.
Nepal lost both League 2 matches against hosts US (by three wickets and 37 runs).
The outcome means Nepal ended their chaotic year managing just two wins in 12 League 2 matches as they sit in the seventh position in the eight-team standings. Their match against Oman during the Canada Tri-Series was also abandoned due to rain.
