MCC women’s team to tour Nepal
MCC will play their first 40-over match against Mixed XI at the Mulpani Cricket Group on October 24 before meeting ICC U-19 at the TU Cricket Ground in a 20 over format the following day.Sports Bureau
England’s Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) women’s team are set to visit Nepal for a six-match tour from October 24 to November 1.
According to a fixture released by Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Friday, MCC will play three T20 and 40-over matches each. They are scheduled to play two matches in Kathmandu and four matches in Pokhara.
MCC will play against Nepal’s Mixed XI comprising senior and junior women players, CAN XI studded with senior national players and ICC U-19 team featuring U-19 players from Nepal, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Bhutan.
MCC will play their first 40-over match against Mixed XI at the Mulpani Cricket Group on October 24 before meeting ICC U-19 at the TU Cricket Ground in a 20 over format the following day.
Visiting MCC will play two T20s at the Pokhara Stadium against CAN XI on October 28 and Mixed XI on October 30. They will vie in 40-over matches on October 29 and November 1 against CAN XI.
MMC founded in 1787 has been based at Lord’s Cricket Ground since 1814.
Meanwhile, the cricket governing body of the country has also scheduled the Prime Minister Cup Men’s One-Day National Cricket Tournament from October 30 to November 12.
The tournament to feature 10 teams will be played at the TU and Mulpani cricket grounds. Altogether 10 teams including—seven provincial and three departmental teams—Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club, Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club will vie in the tournament.
The participating teams are divided into two groups with APF, Army Karnali, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim drawn in Group ‘A’. Group ‘B’ consists of Police, Bagmati, Lumbini, Madhesh and Province 1.
