Table toppers Nepal Police Club thumped Province 1 by six wickets in a dead rubber of the Prime Minister Cup National Twenty20 cricket tournament at the TU grounds in Kirtipur on Monday.
Coming into the match, Police were already assured of pole position in Group 'A' while Province 1 were out of the race in the knockout stage. Police bowlers Aarif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airee and captain Shrestha grabbed two wickets apiece.
Chasing the target, Police opener Kushal Bhurtel played a quickfire 28-ball 44. The player of the match hit three boundaries and sixes each. Anil Sah remained unbeaten on 26 runs off 24. Airee contributed 20 runs while Sheikh was not out on 10 runs.
