Nepal go down to USA by six wickets

Nepal succumbed to a six-wicket defeat against the USA in the One-Day International (ODI) Tri-Series match of the ICC World Cup League 2 at the Al Amerat cricket ground in Oman on Friday.
Nepal failed on both the batting and bowling fronts and faced their first ODI defeat against the USA among the four matches played so far.
Put into bat first, Nepal were bowled out for 174 runs in 48 overs before the USA made 175-4 in 29.3 overs.

Captain Gyanendra Malla contributed the highest 55 runs while opener Kushal Bhurtel scored 36 runs for Nepal. Debutant Gulshan Jha, who came to bat at number six, scored 26 runs while Karan KC (12 runs), Sandeep Lamichhane (11 runs) and Binod Bhandari (10 runs) were the other batsmen for Nepal to contribute in double digit figures.
Saurabh Netravalkar claimed four wickets for the USA, giving away 29 runs in his nine bowling overs. Kyle Phillips grabbed three wickets while Karima Gore, Elmore Hutchinson and Nosthush Kenjige picked one each.
In the run chase, opener Steven Taylor smashed 62 runs. He hit 12 fences and three sixes in his 63-ball knock. Monank Patel and Jaskaran Malhotra remained unbeaten with 38 runs and 36 runs respectively.
Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC grabbed two wickets each for Nepal.
Nepal will take on Oman in the last match of the Series on Sunday.
