Gulshan Jha makes to the final squad

Medium pacer Gulshan Jha has been included in the 17-member national cricket squad announced on Saturday for the Tri-Series of the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2. The series hosted by Oman will have Nepal and the USA as the other two competing nations. The event is set to take place from September 14 to 20.
This is the first time Jha, who has played only two national matches, has made the final cut. Among the 19-member players undergoing national team closed camp training, medium pacer Kamal Singh Airee and Shahab Alam have been left out. Meanwhile, pacer Bikram Sob and batter Rohit Poudel have marked comeback to the national fold for the Oman tour.
Jha came in the limelight during the Mayors' Cup Cricket tournament held in Kathmandu in March. Jha, who failed to make into his native Province 2 squad, played two matches for Nepal Police Club. He conceded 22 runs against Mayors XI and returned with 4-36 against the Nepal Armed Police Force Club (APF) in his seven-over bowling in the final game.
Ahead of the Tri-Series, Nepal is is also scheduled to play two One-Day International (ODI) series against Papua New Guinea (PNG) on September 5 and 8 as preparatory games.
The team announced under captaincy of Gyanendra Malla will be the first 50-over game assignment for Nepal's coach Dav Whatmore, who was appointed for the hot seat in December last year.
Fitness trainer Rakesh Kasibhai Gohil, physiotherapist Vikram Nyaupane, technical analyst Raman Shiwakoti will accompany the team. Cricket association of Nepal member Md Daud Ansari is the team manager.
