Jha called for national team training camp

Medium pacer Gulshan Jha has been called for the national cricket team's closed camp for the first time on Wednesday.
He was included in the training camp of Tri-Series of the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2 comprising hosts Oman, USA and Nepal. The training for the Series, proposed for October, will kick off from Thursday. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Wednesday named a 19-member squad for the Series.
Jha came into the limelight during Mayors' Cup Cricket tournament in Kathmandu in March. Playing for the Nepal Police Club, Jha had claimed four wickets of the Nepal Armed Police Force Club (APF) to guide his team to the trophy. He was named the-man-of-the-match.
Nepal are sixth in the seven-team league. They have so far played four matches in the League 2 cycle and they stand sixth in the table with two wins and two losses.
The League 2 features seven teams — Nepal, Oman, the USA, the United Arab Emirates, Scotland, Namibia and Papua New Guinea (PNG). Nepal will play six matches in Oman, two each against Oman and the USA and 36 ODIs in total by February 2023.
The teams that finish in the top three will secure berths at the World Cup Qualifiers while the bottom four will compete in the World Cup Qualifiers playoff set to take place in Zimbabwe in June and July in 2023.
Oman leads the standings winning eight matches from 10 games played. USA are second with six wins from 12 matches played and the PNG are at the bottom of the standings having lost all eight matches played so far.
Apart from Jha, Gyanendra Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee, Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Aarif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Binod Bhandari, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Sandeep Lamichhane, Kamal Singh Airee, Abinash Bohara, Shahab Alam, Sushan Bhari, Sharad Vesawkar, Bikram Sob, Pawan Sarraf and Rohit Kumar Chaudhary have been called for the training camp.
