Exhibition to support art students
Shivata Love Foundation’s sixth annual show has works of 30 different artists.
Post Report
To celebrate their sixth annual day, Shivata Love Foundation (SLFN) organised an exhibition titled ‘Shivata 28: Art exhibition for social cause’. Funds collected through the event will be utilised to sponsor undergraduate-level education of art students from an underprivileged background.
SLFN, is a non-profit organisation working in Belgium and Nepal founded by former chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts and eminent artist Ragini Upadhayay. It organises an exhibition every year to raise funds for this cause, commemorating the life and death of Upadhayay’s daughter, Shivata Upadhayay Grela.
Maria Kempe, the Regional Director of Southern Africa IM Swedish Development Partner, inaugurated the show on April 22. The exhibition will end on April 28 with a closing ceremony.
The exhibition features 36 artworks by 30 veteran and new, Nepali and international artists. The artworks depict various social, cultural, and political issues.
The organisers state that the primary goal of organising the exhibition is to encourage young art students to pursue further education in the subject.
