The twenty-fourth general assembly of the Nepal Film Development Company (NFDC) on Sunday decided to construct a life-like statue to honour senior filmmaker Uddhav Poudel.

Poudel was recently honoured with the Bishishta Chalchitrakarmi Award by the Government of Nepal and has also served as the chair of NFDC and Gopi Krishna Movies.

Poudel is being honoured for his contribution to the Nepali cinema through production and distribution, NFDC said.

The statue, the meeting decided, will be constructed in the premises of NFDC office in Balaju.

Ujjwal Poudel, the chair of NFDC, said that the company is now coming up with several reforms. “We have already established a new office that boasts a spacious studio, and separate rooms for VFX and graphics,” Poudel said.
