After conducting six successful Nepal Reads programmes, Quixote Cove (QC) is hosting yet another discussion on the poetry anthology These Fine Lines on June 24, at Yala Mandala, in Kwalkhu Road, Lalitpur.
The book discussion programme, which started December last year, was previously organised in Pokhara and Lazimpat, in the Capital.
Nepal Reads was launched by US Embassy’s Book Bus with an objective to encourage a culture of reading and reflection among Nepali youths.
Each year, the programme features two selected texts of literature, wherein the readers engage in discussions with authors and scholars.
Speaking to the Post, poet Nasala Chitrakar, whose three poems are anthologised in the book, said, “There are relatively fewer books written by female writers in Nepal and this book, being an anthology written just by women, will help inspire other women to write. It’s amazing that the programme kicked off with this book.”
The discussion will revolve around poems in the anthology, poetry in general, and participants’ personal experiences.
The event will also feature a live poetry reading session.
