The teaser for the upcoming Nepali film Dhanpati, which features Khagendra Lamichhane and Surakshya Panta in lead roles, was released amid a function held in the Capital on Friday. The film is directed by Dipendra K Khanal and written by actor Lamichhane himself.

The film is being produced jointly under the banner of Tukee Arts and Dipendra K Khanal Productions, the team behind 2016’s superhit Pashupati Prasad. 

The film, according to the producers, tells the story of a dignified lower-class youth with a family, making a living from his job at a restaurant in the Capital and how he falls into the trap of politics and manipulation. 

Along with Lamichhane and Panta, the film features Aashant Sharma, Manish Niraula, Surabhi Bartaula, and Harihar Sharma, among others. 

Speaking at the event, director Khanal said, “In Dhanpati I have invested more effort than in any film I have directed so far. I am excited to watch the film in company of the audiences.” 

Dhanpati is slated to hit theatres nationwide starting July 7.
