Fostering communal harmony
Eminent author and social activist Krishna Murari Gautam delivered a talk on strengthening cultural harmony at the Voices Programme organised on Tuesday, at Nepal Bharat Library, Kathmandu. The event was held to mark Communal Harmony Week 2015.
Eminent author and social activist Krishna Murari Gautam delivered a talk on strengthening cultural harmony at the Voices Programme organised on Tuesday, at Nepal Bharat Library, Kathmandu. The event was held to mark Communal Harmony Week 2015.
Gautam is the Founding Chairperson of Ageing Nepal, which has been working on issues such as empowering the elderly since 2011. He is known as Chatyang Master in literary circle, and has authored six books.
During his one-hour-long talk, he briefed about the different aspects of communal harmony. The talk was followed by a Q & A session.
Prior to his talk, Vinay Kumar, deputy chief of mission, shared the importance of maintaining communal harmony in a diverse society. He added that the need to celebrate unity in diversity has led to celebration of communal harmony week in India. Kumar mentioned that the relation between India and Nepal share a historic relationship and India only wants peace and prosperity in Nepal.
