Post Report
Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 during the final event held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, India. She is the first Thai woman to win the title in the pageant’s 72-year history. Ethiopia’s Hasset Dereje Admassu was named first runner-up, followed by Poland’s Maja Klajda and Martinique’s Aurélie Joachim.
The finale began with the introduction of 108 delegates, followed by the announcement of the Top 40 quarterfinalists—ten from each continental region: Africa, the Americas and the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia and Oceania. Stephanie Del Valle, Miss World 2016, and Indian presenter Sachiin Kumbhar co-hosted the event, which featured performances by Bollywood actors Jacqueline Fernandez and Ishaan Khatter.
Chuangsri, 21, from Phuket, is a political science student at Thammasat University. Her social initiative, ‘OpalForHer,’ focuses on breast cancer awareness, inspired by her own experience overcoming a tumour at age 16. She previously held the title Miss Universe Thailand 2024 and placed third runner-up at Miss Universe 2024.
This year, a new recognition was introduced: the Global Ambassador for Beauty With a Purpose Award, given to Sudha Reddy, known for her philanthropic work in education and healthcare. Actor Sonu Sood received the Miss World Humanitarian Award for his ongoing efforts in humanitarian aid and social work.
The 2025 Miss World pageant highlighted Telangana’s cultural heritage through various events and site visits, concluding with the crowning of Opal Suchata Chuangsri.
