‘Haas-mandu’ set to tickle your funny bones
According to the organisers, the show will be family-friendly, with jokes appropriate for all age groups and communitiesPost Report
‘Haas-mandu’, a fundraising comedy show organised by Round Table Nepal (RTN), is all set for Friday at Rashtriya Sabha Griha in Kathmandu.
RTN is an INGO of non-political and non-sectarian young men between the age group of 18 and 40 with the motto ‘Adopt, Adapt, Improve’. Though they have been organising fundraising events for a long time to contribute to the education of underprivileged children, this is the first time the organisation is doing a comedy show.
Previously, the organisation had conducted fundraising events like movies, talk shows and Girls on Wheels—a scooter treasure hunt for girls, among others. This time around, the organisers wanted to do something different. Inspired by the many comedy fundraising events in India, they decided on a stand-up comedy show, says Modak Sarda from RTN.
Thus, RTN reached out to popular Nepali stand-up comedian, actor, Sandip Chhetri with the project concept of ‘Haas-mandu’. Chhetri suggested roping in Suman Koirala and Subodh Gautam. Gautam, in particular, was called for his excellent mimicry.
According to the organisers, the show will be family-friendly, with jokes appropriate for all age groups and communities. Motivated by the positive responses, RTN hopes to continue ‘Haas-mandu’ as the annual event in the years to come.
