IEC College of Art and Fashion organised the twelfth edition of the IEC Designers Runway on Friday. Final year students from the college’s Bachelor’s in Fashion and Retailing programme showcased their final project at the event, which was organised by Next Models Nepal, at Hotel Yak and Yeti in Durbarmarg, Kathmandu.
The show was organised into 11 different sequences—namely ‘Illimune Allure’, ‘Underwater Escape’, ‘The Broken Column’, ‘Aavyana’, ‘Floral Opulence’, ‘Fungus’, ‘Revival Metamorphosis’, ‘Bling Cale’, ‘Mojolica’, ‘Phases De-la Lune’ and ‘Curo’.
27 Nepali and six international models walked the runway, flaunting the creative designs of 51 students. Additionally, most sequences also had a celebrity show-stopper, featuring celebrities including former Miss Nepal title holders Asmi Shrestha and Namrata Shrestha, actresses Swastima Khadka and Aanchal Sharma and Mister Nepal 2023, Samarpan Karki.
They were joined on stage by Indian choreographers Yatin Gandhi and Puran Chhetri, who also choreographed the show. Media personality and Miss Nepal 2002 Malvika Subba hosted the event.
Shailaja Adhikari, the managing director of IEC Group, said they aim to promote new designers entering the fashion scene through IEC Designers Runway. “We hope to introduce Nepali designers to the international stage through this show,” she said.
