Clear weather over the past few days has allowed residents of Taulihawa to see the Himalayas, adding to the festive atmosphere of Dashain.
Locals said the view of the snow-clad mountains from their homes has left them excited and delighted, especially in the early mornings when the peaks appear clearer.
From Taulihawa, people have been able to see Dhaulagiri (8,167 metres), Annapurna I (8,091 metres), Annapurna South (7,219 metres), and Tilicho (7,134 metres).
“The clouds have cleared in the past two days, and the Himalayas seem to be gazing at Taulihawa and nearby areas,” said local resident Janardan Parajuli. “It has been a decade since I last saw the mountains glowing red in the morning and shining white during the day.”
