Jacaranda trees are in full bloom in many places of the Kathmandu Valley, covering streets and public spaces in vibrant purple as spring reaches its peak in the Capital.
People have been gathering beneath the flowering trees to take photographs and film videos, while purple petals blanket pavements and roadside areas.
The seasonal bloom, though short-lived, has once again highlighted the importance of urban greenery in a city struggling with worsening air quality and rapid urban expansion.
The trees have flowered in several parts of the Valley, including Tundikhel, Ratna Park, Durbar Marg, the airport area and Mahalaxmisthan.
