Snowfall has covered the high hills and Himalayan areas of Rukum East since Thursday night following a change in weather conditions. The snow has attracted an increasing number of visitors eager to play and enjoy the winter scenery.

However, the snowfall has caused transportation disruptions along the Mid-Hill Highway near the Rukum East and Baglung border, particularly in the Pathihalne area. Despite efforts to clear nearly three feet of snow, vehicle movement remains challenging. “Driving is extremely difficult due to the thick snow, and travellers are taking risks to navigate the route,” said Tejendra Serpali, a driver.

Despite the adverse weather and hazardous road conditions, many domestic tourists from Rukum and Baglung have travelled to Pathihalne to experience the snowfall.

Located at an altitude of approximately 3,200 metres above sea level, the Pathihalne area often faces transportation challenges during the winter season.Authorities in Rukum East, including local administration and security personnel, are working to clear the snow and restore traffic movement.
