Leaders from the Tharuhat Tharuwan Rashtriya Morcha staged demonstrations at Maitighar Mandala on Wednesday in Kathmandu to mark the 6th anniversary of the Tharuhat-Tharuwan movement.
According to the organisers, the protest programme is spread across three days from Wednesday to Friday.
Tharuhat Tharuwan Rashtriya Morcha started a fresh protest demanding the release from prisons of those involved in the Tikapur incident including Resham Chaudhary, a member of the House of Representatives, and follow through on the past agreements.
The day saw poetry recitations to plays performed by artistes from Shilpee Theatre and demonstrations from leaders of civil society in support of the movement.
