Election cop dies in Baitadi
Third death of election police personnel in the district during current deployment.Mohan Chand
An election cop died in ward 6 of Melauli Municipality in Baitadi on Monday night.
Rajendra Prasad Bhatta, 38, was found unconscious at his home at around 10:30pm. He had returned home after completing his duty in the evening and suddenly collapsed.
He was rushed to Kesharpur Primary Health Centre by ambulance, where doctors declared him dead at 12:05am, said Suraj Singh, information officer and Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Baitadi.
Bhatta was deployed at the Area Police Office, Melauli.
His body has been kept at Kesharpur Primary Health Centre. Post-mortem is yet to be conducted.
With his death, three election police personnel have died in Baitadi so far.
Earlier, on February 20, Mahadev Oad, 38, of Dasharathchand Municipality-4, died after he was found unconscious at home while having a meal break. Doctors at the District Hospital declared him dead.
In the last week of January, Prakash Chand, 32, also of Dasharathchand Municipality-4, died after falling off a cliff.
