Nepal Kabaddi League Season 2 postponed indefinitely
Organisers cite operational and technical challenges; drafted players to retain their places, new schedule to be announced later.Post Report
The second season of the Nepal Kabaddi League (NKL) has been postponed indefinitely due to operational and technical challenges, league organisers said.
In a statement, the organisers said preparations were underway to make the tournament more organised, secure, technology-driven and aligned with international standards. However, they said several unavoidable operational and technical issues had emerged, making it inappropriate to proceed with the competition before they are fully resolved.
The organisers said all players selected through the season’s draft process would retain their places despite the postponement.
They added that plans to bring in top players from Nepal and abroad, enhance the tournament’s competitiveness and improve the spectator experience remain unchanged.
The statement also acknowledged the preparations and commitments made by franchise teams, expressing confidence that further improvements in management and operations would strengthen the league’s long-term success and international competitiveness.
A revised schedule and details of future plans will be announced once all technical and operational issues have been resolved, the organisers said.
They reiterated their commitment to the development and future of kabaddi in Nepal.
