Lumbini set 157 for Karnali in NPL clash

Lumbini Lions posted a target of 157 runs for Karnali Yaks in their Nepal Premier League fixture on Saturday after putting up 156–8 in the allotted 20 overs at the TU International Cricket Stadium, Kirtipur.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Lumbini were anchored by captain Rohit Kumar Paudel, who struck a composed 49 off 43 balls, hitting four fours and two sixes. JJ Smit added a brisk 23 off 14 with two fours and a six, while D’Arcy Short contributed 19 off 13, including four boundaries.
Lower down the order, Ruben Trumpelmann provided much-needed acceleration, smashing 29 with three sixes and a four, as Sher Malla remained unbeaten on 7.
Karnali’s bowling unit shared the wickets, with Nandan Yadav finishing as the most successful bowler with 2 wickets.
Sompal Kami, Gulshan Jha, Mark Watt, Bipin Sharma and Yuvraj Khatri claimed a wicket apiece.
Karnali now require 157 runs to secure their second win of the tournament.
