Avanie, Satyajyot win The Himalayan Swing Open 2025

Avanie Rai—the first recipient of the Golf for All scholarship and the first Nepali female golfer selected for international training—won the Himalayan Swing Open 2025 with 32 points at Gokrana Forest Resort Golf Club on Saturday.
Himalayan Swing Open 2025 is a charity golf tournament organised by the Rotary Club of Himalayan Golfers (RCHG) aimed to support and promote emerging female golf talent in the country.
The RCHG had formally exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the family Rai to support her scholarship for professional golf training and education on October 29. The RCHG had then declared to organise the Himalayan Swing Open 2025, its first fundraising tournament under the Golf For All initiative, with the proceeds from the event going towards supporting young golfers like Rai.
Another MoU was signed on Saturday for Rai’s enrollment at the Tarun Sir Desai Golf Academy in Bangalore, marking a historic milestone as she becomes the first Nepali female golfer to receive international training.
Similarly, Samjhana Khatri finished as the runner-up with 31 points in the ladies’ category.
Likewise, Satyajyot SJB Rana won in the men’s category, securing the victory with an impressive 44 Stableford points, while Robin Rana finished runner-up with 36 points. Phuntshok N Lama claimed the Best Gross Award with a gross score of 35 and also won the Most Birdies Award after carding six birdies.
In the senior category (age 60 and above), Honorary Consul of Mongolia TG Shrestha captured the trophy with 31 points, followed by Lt Col Anirudha Singh with 29 points.
Rabindra Tiwari won among Rotarian golfers, while Bipana Shrestha and Som Gurung claimed the Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive awards, respectively.
The tournament, which was played over 18 holes in a Stableford format, attracted 103 golfers, including eight female participants.
