Kantipur half-marathon on June 4

Kantipur Publication Pvt Ltd is all set to organise the Kantipur half-marathon 2022 after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The 10th edition of the half-marathon, one of the premier events in the country, will take place on June 4.
The road-running one-day event features men’s and women’s half-marathon, corporate run and wheelchair race and sees participation of thousands of runners every year. The event is open to all Nepali and foreign citizens above 18 years of age and will also showcase the talents of national and international professional runners.
The 21km half-marathon will begin from the Central Business Park, the office of Kantipur Publications at Thapathali, and will traverse through Maitighar, Bijulibazar, New Baneshwar, Tinkune, Koteshwar, Gatthaghar, Sano Thimi, Sallaghari and return via the same route before finishing at the starting point.
The corporate event will be of 5 km distance while the wheelchair race will have competition in 3 km distance.
The last edition of the half-marathon was held in May 2019. Anish Thapa Magar and Bishworupa Budha are the defending champions.
The first Kantipur half-marathon was held on February 19, 2011 to commemorate the 18th anniversary of Kantipur Publications, coinciding with Nepal’s Democracy Day.
